Located on Bodmin Moor, a designated Dark Sky Park, Hallagenna Farm Holiday Cottages offer direct access to the Moor and its breathtaking wilderness scenery. Guests can enjoy excellent walking and cycling trails from the doorstep. It’s perfect for dog walkers too, with mile upon mile of moorland to explore. Our cottages are just a short drive from the A30 and are centrally located to easily access the North and South coasts and the rest of Cornwall. And being in a Dark Sky Park, at night guests can enjoy one of the clearest, starriest skies in the country.
From Hallagenna you can walk totally off- road for miles – through unspoilt, hidden valleys, prehistoric stone circles, cairns and open fields. You really are “Off the beaten track” in the most natural, unspoilt environment in Cornwall.
Bodmin Moor is also a haven for wildlife – from herds of wild ponies, deer, foxes, badgers, birds of prey, rabbits and even ever-elusive otters.
We have converted our stables into environmentally-friendly cottages whilst retaining many original features. We have installed pv panels on the roof to generate sufficient energy for each cottage. Each cottage is very well insulated and double glazed and we have installed energy-saving lights and bulbs throughout. We also capture all our rainwater in the livery yard for our horses!
Our cottages are clean, with modern decor inside, fully-equipped kitchens (including oven, hob, dishwasher and microwave oven), underfloor heating and wooden flooring throughout.
The kitchens open out onto the dining and living area, with comfortable sofas, coffee table, 32″ HD television with Freeview and DVD player. Each relaxing bedroom in our cottages has its own en suite shower room.Towels and all bedlinens are also provided.
Holiday Cottages for up to 13 people
Our Holiday Cottages Cornwall – Trippet, Stable Barn and Jubilee – are three very smart, spacious & comfortable self-catering properties in what were the old stables on the farm.
Jubilee Cottage sleeps up to 6 people in three bedrooms, whilst Trippett Cottage sleeps up to 4 people in two bedrooms.
Both cottages have their own outdoor seating area.
All properties have their own dedicated parking spaces.
We can accommodate up to two medium-sized dogs in our Cottages.
The Stable Barn apartment is a first floor property and is accessed via an exterior granite stone staircase. It has a fully equipped kitchen, dining and living area and one double and one single bedroom. It has an outside decking area with lovely views across Bodmin Moor.

Arrival & Departure:
Our cottages are available on Fridays, usually for a minimum of 7 nights. Outside school holidays we can offer minimum 3-night breaks.
All our properties are non-smoking.
We now accept up to two medium-sized dogs in the Cottages. Please view our canine policy here.

Arrival: Once you have booked your cottage the cottage will be available for you from 4pm on the arrival date. (If you are likely to arrive after 6pm please advise us) The key will be available in the key safe.
Departure: Departure is required no later than 9.30am on the departure date of your booking.
Shopping: Supermarkets Asda (Bodmin) & Tesco (Wadebridge) as well as our local St Breward Stores all deliver to our cottages. Should you wish to arrange delivery to your cottage before your arrival please let us know and we will arrange for the goods to be put in the cottage ready for you.

One of the last great wildernesses of the United Kingdom, Bodmin Moor has many hidden gems as the largest outdoor recreational area in Cornwall. From riding, cycling and walking, the Moor’s diverse natural environment attracts visitors looking to get away from the crowds and enjoy breathtaking scenery.
Many parts of the BBC television series Poldark were filmed around Hallagenna and it remains a sought-after location for Poldark fans from around the world.
Cycling Break Cornwall
Hallagenna Farm Cottages are in a perfect location for a cycling holiday. Explore the beautiful moorland roads and trails, including the Sustrans Trail Route 3 – a fantastic long-distance trail which passes by Hallagenna. Or cycle along the Camel Trail just down the road at Wenfordbridge, an 18 mile, largely traffic-free surfaced trail which takes you through beautiful Cornish countryside along a disused railway line to Bodmin, Wadebridge and then Padstow.
